Funny DJ "Throwing Stones" Story

Here's true story #1

I was a huge Deadhead in my twenties and always had the music cranked up really LOUD!

So one day I was rocking out while vaccuuming my condo when "Throwing Stones" comes on the radio. Yes! I crank the radio even louder while continuing my cleaning. All of a sudden the DJ completely cuts the song off before it even gets to the end and I am disgusted with him. How dare he cut off a Dead song right?

So, not only do I get mad as anything but I call the radio station to complain! "That was the worst version of throwing stones I have ever heard" I tell the DJ. "Don't even bother playing the song if you're gonna cut it off before it ends!" CLICK- I hang up in his ear.

So I get back to my vaccuuming feeling pretty good about getting that off my chest. All of a sudden to my sheer horror, I hear MY OWN VOICE on the radio. "That was the worst version of throwing stones, etc..." (my face turned beet red)

The DJ apologizes on the air for cutting the song off and adds, "We don't want to piss off our Deadhead listeners so this one's going out to you." And he plays "Sugaree" for me. The whole song :-)
